Watch X-Men: Days of Future Past 2014 Online Movie
This is obviously a hell ensemble of high prices, and not all of the stars are used properly. Halle Berry as Storm sleepwalking through his battle scenes, Pages does little besides squatting beside Jackman and squinch her face, and Anna Paquin is almost invisible (seriously - where in the film he?). But others have moments that affect them. Stewart and McKellen Pinteresque required to enter a pause in the memories of their parents and their exchange with the flood of feelings. McAvoy Xavier has adorably for the seed, and it was fun to watch him find his inner Patrick Stewart. Fassbender sneaky holding back, put all his anger in his eyes and wolf teeth. Jackman is the one who holds the whole ramshackle construction together: His Wolverine now has gravitas. But the gem of the film is Jennifer Lawrence. In human form, she wears a smile that shows he has a dirty secret (which he did). When he went blue, she was even better. He plays on the waist with a precision robot (he's a very good mime), and raised the ire of his blood-soaked chill of Sissy Spacek in Carrie's teenage burn.
For all the incredible work, X-Men: Days of Future Past is a product: It does not feel as if he has a reason to exist aside from his studio determination to defend itself even with commercial terms "tentpole." , He has lapses, especially the climax (featuring Dick Nixon!), Where the X-Men attempt to change history: The whole idea is kind of lame. When I saw, I thought back to a more ingenious treatment of the same vanity, some of which feature Patrick Stewart. There is a classic Star Trek: The Next Generation episode called "Yesterday's Enterprise" is dark and scary and makes you sad to see how obviously screwed Denise Crosby is redeemed at Tasha Yar on the first season of the show for a film career that never happened. To that end, TNG two-hour finale, "All Good Things ...", has wittier "unify stream" construction.
A further damper, I admit, is my knowledge of the extra-cinematic alleged sexual crimes Singer - a scandal that, whatever the legal outcome, the comeback has been stopped in its tracks. Once again, viewers will have to struggle to separate the artist from the art. And while Singer did not work in the same league as Roman Polanski or Woody Allen, X-Men movies (especially, X2) has a potential gay-rights ("Mutant and proud!") SubText that I would hate to see a certain segment of the population link off-camera behavior. Subtext that is part of the legacy Singer looming - as his X-Men - above the world average.
